This is the first ecocentre in Montreal and one of the first in Quebec. Several times during the design process, the project has been seriously compromised. It was a difficult site. Citizen complaints, budgetary constraints, lack of market for the products, have all been major constraints encountered during the realisation process.

NOur involvement and our determination were essential and were instrumental in leading this pilot project to completion. It had an immediate popular success, reaching its maximum use within months. We have even been asked after a few years of operation to manage the overflow of the site's capacity.

This experience has enabled us to establish the optimal components of waste recycling and management in a dense urban context. On this model, we planned more than a dozen eco-centers and transshipment centers for the city in recent years. They are now part of the major components of the management of recyclable materials in the territory.
