The goal of the project is to substantially expand and renovate the existing polar bear habitat. Working to existing topography, it will provide added space, a diverse surrounding and provide polar bears with a better view over the area. This will promote a greater variety of behaviors typically observed in the wild and improve their well-being while meeting the highest industry standards.

In addition of the complete renovation of the outdoor enclosure, the indoor area will also be expanded to ensure that staff can continue to provide care in a safe and caring manner. The addition of shelters and viewing areas for the visitors, as well as interpretive panels and a more natural setting will allow visitors to enjoy their visit and learn more about these magnificent animals.
