Our Firm

The company was founded in 1989 by Michel Rousseau and Daniel Lefebvre, two young landscape architects focused on integrating sustainable development within the profession’s standard practices.

In 2000, as the firm gained greater recognition throughout Quebec, it became multidisciplinary and now offers services in urban planning, landscape architecture and environment.

Our team of twenty professionals is connected to a large network of collaborators and specialists, among the best in the country.

Our clients come from the public and private sectors. In nearly 30 years of existence, ministries, municipalities, businesses and developers retain our services to design actual sustainable projects that exceeds initial expectations, therefore providing an exceptional living environment for a diversified clientele.

Michel Rousseau, founding partner

Senior Landscape Architect, CSLA, AAPQ

Profile

His ability as a team leader and his desire to integrate all sides of a project allowed him to develop a sharp expertise in Applied Sustainable development. He’s often invited as a speaker or a teacher to share his technical knowledge in sustainable stormwater management, planting and phytotechnology.

He is an active member of the Quebec Society for Phytotechnology (SQP) and was a founding member 2011 and former president. He was a Board member of several organizations and contributed to the progression of many organization in sustainable development and environment.

Known for his involvement in the development of the profession, Michel was introduced to the College of Fellows, the highest distinction of the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects (CSLA). A pragmatic visionary initially, Michel Rousseau is now considered a frontrunner who continues to make the profession shine through the project he designs and manages with the team of Groupe Rousseau Lefebvre.

Daniel Lefebvre, partner

Senior Landscape Architect, CSLA, AAPQ

Profile

Combining studies in urbanism and landscape architecture, sustainable development and management throughout large territories and at the urban scale are major points of interest for him. In collaboration with different professionals, he works on the integration of urban ecosystems within a vast spectre of projects.

His practice led him to work on major urban projects in Canada and across the world, as a member of multidisciplinary teams. A dedicated leader in planning and design, he’s able to convince and regroup people around a common vision; applied sustainable development.

Columnist and author, he signed numerous articles and participate to the redaction of several publications that are now considered references in the field of sustainable construction.

Mélanie Glorieux, partner

Project director
Senior Landscape Architect, M. Eng., SITES AP, CSLA, AAPQ

Profile

Her experience in landscape architecture allowed her to develop a fine expertise in masterplan designs that integrate sustainable stormwater management and planning and management techniques in an urban context.

Promoting an integrated design approach, she has worked in a vast variety of projects where civil engineering, electrical engineering, architecture and urbanism professionals collaborate. Her professional and academic experience gives her a global perspective that allows her to conceal clients, users and designer’s needs in the creation of an integrated and sustainable urban landscape project.

Mélanie is an acknowledged lecturer on sustainable stormwater management and planning in a sustainable context for the corporate and municipal sectors. In 2017, Mélanie became the first landscape architect in Canada to achieve the SITES AP certification.

Julie Bonneau, partner

Administrative director

Profile

Following in design studies, Julie was recruited by a major engineering firm where she was involved in the instauration of the ISO program and the elaboration of procedures aim at the standardization and quality control of the various activities.

Afterwards, she managed her own design-built company where she designed, supervised and realized successfully several major projects.

Today, she is the administrative director at Groupe Rousseau Lefebvre. She manages the administration of the company, establishes procedures and quality control methods specific to our projects. She also manages the image and the quality of the documents and communications we produce.

Marie-Eve Boisvert, project manager

Senior Landscape Architect, CSLA, AAPQ
Canadian Certified Playground Inspector

Profile

Marie-Eve main interest is oriented toward contemporary design and urban projects. She participate in several design competition and projects renowned for their bold and creative propositions. She has designed an important number of the firm’s schoolyards and playgrounds following an innovative approach combining the playing experience, planting viability and sustainable development.

She has a mastery of the technical drafting and design software, 3D modeling and numerous graphic and presentation software.

François Fortin, project manager

Urbanist and Senior Landscape Architect. M. Urb., OUQ, CSLA, AAPQ, ADUQ

Profile

Urbanist and landscape architect for nearly 10 years, François possess a vast experience and planning, management and design. He has participated in several project analyses as well as urban and regional planning on various scales.

He has worked on masterplans for municipal, commercial, real estate and private sector projects. A dynamic communicator and facilitator, he has an excellent understanding and knowledge of planning regulations.

Philippe Binette, project manager

Senior Landscape Architect, CSLA, AAPQ, LEED Green Associate

Profile

Philippe has explored multiple aspects in the practice of landscape architecture, from on-site design and construction to urban planning. He has been part of real estate, infrastructure, urban design and engineering projects. His strategic mindset and technical knowledge allows him to design projects grounded on a site characteristic and coherent with the opportunities it presents.

His personal interest and international experience in golf course architecture led him in the development of a fine expertise in mass grading, interventions in natural habitat and site's naturalization.

Mylène Chartrand, project manager

Senior Landscape Architect, M. L.A, CSLA, AAPQ

Profile

Graduate from universities in Ontario, Mylène's varied interests led her to acquire and combine multiple degrees and experience. She has a solid experience in project execution and in the production of plans and specifications especially for the design of urban projects. She also possesses a large experience in construction supervision.

With Groupe Rousseau Lefebvre, she was able to share her technical knowledge and ensure that the designs are efficiently transferred from concept to construction following precise and well-structured plans and specifications.

Stéphanie Duguay, project manager

Senior biologist, M.Sc, ABQ

Profile

Stéphanie has a concrete expertise in optimisation and environmental project integration keeping considerations for biodiversity, including wetlands, endangered species, alien invasive species. Having a Master's degree in landscape ecology, she has a particular interest in the creation of biodiversity corridors functional on multiple scales.

Since 2006, she has planned, coordinated and put in motion over 100 projects including the characterisation and planning of natural environments, including for authorisation certificates and environmental permits. This has allowed her to develop an expertise in fauna and flora inventory, environmental evaluation and in project management. Oriented towards efficiency, she is known for her ease of organisation and ability to synthesize complex concepts in order to easily communicate them.

Sarah Lacombe

Intermediary Landscape Architect and Horticulturist, CSLA, AAPQ

Profile

Sarah first acquired practical knowledge in horticulture which allowed her to understand the growth and life of plants as well as their respective habitat. She has a speciality on plants with phytotechnology properties.

She also highly performs in design and graphic presentation and has a particular interest for contemporary design projects. Always on the leading edge of the current evolution in architecture and landscape architecture, she manages « Le Pamphlet » a blog presenting recent design, urban planning and landscape projects.

In 2015, she received the Emerging Professional Award from the CSLA for her involvement, passion and enthusiasm regarding the profession of landscape architecture.

Dominique Bertrand

Intermediary Landscape Architect, M. Env., CSLA, AAPQ

Profile

Initially graduated in landscape architecture, Dominique completed a Master's in Environmental Sciences. Versatile and precise, she is involved in every step of a project, from the initial survey to construction and the design and plans along the way. Over the last 4 years, she participated in the realization of municipal, institutional and real estate projects. She also has a fine knowledge of the security standards for playgrounds.

With her dynamic nature and strong commitment Dominique invests time and energy on various events and organizations linked to landscape architecture and regional planning.
